Jason Potter has been doing Martial Arts for the last eighteen years. He has a passion for practical Martial Arts applications when it comes to self-defense. During his career, he has applicable life experiences in dealing with violence and managing dangerous situations. He is a believer in less lethal tactics and using his skills set in mixed martial arts to manage conflict.
Mr. Potter has managed security teams in some of Miami, Florida’s busiest and toughest night clubs. He also worked as a personal bodyguard for elite business men ensuring the safety of his clients and their families. He was a professional mixed martial arts fighter for one of the premier Mix Martial Art Teams in the world, the American TOP Team (ATT) with a 5-1 record. He was managed by an Ultimate Fighter Veteran (UFC) and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Charles McCarthy. In 2009, he expanded his passion into serving the community and graduated from the West Palm Beach Law Enforcement Academy to become a law enforcement officer.
During his career, he has worked in the Wyoming State Prison and transported incarcerated individuals all over the state of Wyoming and other states. He was a member of the Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT) where he responded to all disturbances, riots and hostile outbreaks in the prison system. He was the Custody and Control instructor for the prison that taught officers how to use proper control techniques for inmate and officer safety.
For several years, Mr. Potter worked for the Park County Sheriffs Department where he served as a Deputy. In 2016, Officer Potter joined the Cody Police Department serving the citizens of Cody and recently accepted the position as the Cody High School Resource Officer and the Custody and Control Instructor for the department.
